566,734. Universal joints. THOMAS, P. E. Jan. 11, 1943, No. 522. [Class 80 (ii)] [Also in Group XIX] Universal joint for concentric shafts 3, 4 comprises a flanged member 15 secured to one part of outer shaft 4 and having a number of grooves engaged by spring-pressed pins 13 carried by a flanged member secured to the other part of the outer shaft 4. The bottoms of the grooves are of spherical form. The two parts of the inner shaft 3 are similarly connected at 13<1>, the flanged member 15<1> having a spherical surface engaging a locating member 16 on the shaft 3. The spherical surfaces of the several grooves and of the locating members have a common centre.
