[Class 135] [Also in Group XXXVII] A switch for controlling the automatic ignition of gas and operating in response to the gas-pressure, is closed preparatory to, and opened in response to, each opening movement of the valve controlling the gas-supply, ignition being effected by a heating coil which ignites a pilot burner for the main burner. The gasinlet g communicates with the outlet j via chambers c, d and a passage i normally closed by a valve k on a diaphragm m. A chamber e above the letter communicates with chamber c through an annular passage u surrounding the stem'p in the valve-bore q. When gas is first supplied to chamber c, a diaphragm o lowers contact r on stem p to engage contact s and energize the heater coil of the pilot jet, which is simultaneously supplied with gas through passage u and chamber e. Gas is then admitted by inlet w to chamber d and outlet j for the main burner, the valve k being thus lifted to supply d direct, and, by engaging shoulder v on stem p to open contact r and cut off the pilot supply. A three-way control tap, Fig. 3, comprises, in addition to the normal throughpassages 4 a connection 5 for simultaneously supplying the byepass w, as shown by the dotted position of the plug 3, the latter being restored by a spring (not shown) to the straightthrough position.
