Abstract

566,252. Hay-knives. HOLDEN, R. C. June 8, 1943, No. 9170. Drawings to Specification. [Class 6 (ii)] A mechanically-operated hay or like knife consists of fixed and moving blades, the latter being reciprocated by a compressed-air turbine. The moving blade runs on a longitudinal rib on the fixed blade and is connected by a rod and crank to reduction gearing moved by the rotor. Oblique holes in the rotor receive compressed-air supplied under control of a valve lever in the handle.
