Abstract
565,478. Drawing rulers. MIRSKY, A. March 3, 1943, No. 3495. [Class 97 (iii)] A device for use in drawing a series of parallel lines such as hatching lines comprises' a flat triangular member 3 having a ruling edge 4<11>, a triangular aperture 2 within which is disposed a member 1. A screwed spindle 10 adjustable for axial movement by a nut 11 is carried by a bracket 12 secured to the member 3, the end of the spindle being secured to a member 7 disposed within a slot 9 in the member 1 and arranged at its' upper surface 8 to act as a finger piece. A spring 13, arranged as shown, tends to keep together the edges 5, 5<1> of the members 1, 3 respectively. In operation the screwed spindle is operated until the distance between the edges 4, 4<1> is the distance required between the parallel lines to be drawn. The member 3 is held by means of the finger piece 7, 8 and a line drawn by means of the edge 411. Pressure on the finger piece 7, 8 is released and the member 1 pressed into firm contact with drawing surface and the member 3 moved into the new position by moving the finger piece 7, 8, i.e. until the edges 4, 4<1> are in contact and a fresh line drawn. Scales 14, 15 indicate the required distances between the drawn parallel lines.
