564,924. Lavatory basins. BRIGGS MANUFACTURING CO. March 24, 1943, No. 4796. Convention date, March 12, 1942. [Class 26] [Also in Group XXII] Sink and laundry units with twc basins are stamped from sheet metal in one piece, or in two pieces that are finally welded to. gether, so as to produce an offset ledge portion 62, 63, 64 surrounding the basins and leading to a marginal rim or flange 61. The ledge accommodates a stamped metal draining board 68 that can be slid to cover either basin. The ledges on the sides slope towards the middle so that water runs from the board into the free basin. The lowest parts of the side ledges are at the same level as the rib 65 separating the two basins and supporting one edge of the draining board. The stamping is effected by a process and dies similar to those described in Specification 538,062, the ledges being formed during the final stage of shaping the basins. In a modification, the basins are formed from separate sheets. After stamping, the parts are trimmed and welded together, the welding line passing along the rib 65.
