Abstract

840,184. Tanks. HARVEY & CO. (LONDON) Ltd., G. A. Feb. 20, 1959 [Feb. 21, 1958], No. 5781/58. Class 69 (1). In a water-tank made of sheet metal and of the open-topped type each wall 1 of the tank is provided at its upper edge with a continuous inwardly directed depression 2 of flattened channel shape, the portion 1<SP>1</SP> of the wall above this depression being continued upwardly substantially in line with the main portion 12 of the wall below the depression and then turned inwardly and downwardly at its free edge, thus forming an edge portion 1<SP>3</SP> of inverted U-shape in section. A cover 3 for the tank is formed in two parts 3<SP>1</SP>, 3<SP>2</SP> each having a downwardly directed portion 5 formed at its lower edge with an inwardly directed flange 6 adapted slidably to engage in the depressions 2. The part 31 of the cover engages in the depressions in three walls of the tank and the part 3<SP>2</SP> engages in the depression in the fourth wall of the tank. The parts 31, 32 are provided with holes 7 so that they may be secured together by bolts.
