[Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XXII] An electric hot-plate consists of an inverted cup-shaped cast body a with an annular flange a<1>, The heating elements a<2> are incorporated within the body, the mouth of which is closed by a plate b. The edge of the cover plate b is ground so as to unite closely with the flange a<1> by means of a burr on the former closely engaging the extremity of the latter, and the said flange and burred part may be afterwards subjected to a metallization or a like process, so as to form an effective union between the flange and plate.
