Abstract
564,687. Protective cut-out arrangements. IGRANIC ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. (Cutler-Hammer, Inc.). Aug. 26, 1943, No. 13920. [Class 38 (v)] A control and overload protective system for a motor M; and suitable for aircraft where continued operation of the overloaded motor may be necessary, comprises contacts S1 of a switch S, the winding S2 of which is energized in the first place by moving a switch 1 to contact 2, and is maintained by a circuit including contacts S1, contacts 4 of an overload relay, and a resistance 5 which prevents switch 1 from directly starting the motor. The switch 1 is of the retractive type and can be held to contact 2 for overriding contacts 4, and can be moved to " stop " contact 3 for short-circuiting coil S2 and disconnecting the motor. An indicator-coil 6 is energized in parallel with, and-short-circuited at the same time as, winding S2. Switch 1 may be replaced by separate switches.
