563,098. Marking fabrics. NATIONAL MARKING MACHINE CO., Ltd. April 16, 1943, No. 6133. Convention date, May 11, 1942. Drawings to Specification. [Class 100 (ii)] Identification marks, resistant to washing, are applied to fabrics by laying a sheet of thermoplastic material, e.g. rubber, synthetic rubber, or a thermoplastic resin such as methyl or butyl metacrylate polymer, on the fabric and pressing with a heated die so that the material immediately adjacent the type face is melted and pressed into the fabric, the remainder of the sheet then being removed. A sheet of paper or " Cellophane " (Registered Trade Mark) may be interposed between the thermoplastic sheet and the die. The synthetic rubbers may be Buna, Perbunan, or Thiokol (Registered Trade Marks) or Butene.
