Abstract
562,102. Centrifugal dust removers. VOKES, C. G., STOKES, E. A., and VOKES, Ltd. Dec. 14, 1942, No. 17756. [Class 23] The apparatus comprises inner and outer dished bowls 1, 2 merging into a central outlet tube 4 for removal of the cleaned gas. The cross-sectional area of the passage between the bowls from inlet to outlet, is constant. Flow of gas may be in either direction. Dust is collected by a trap 5 and falls into a box 6, but if the apparatus is mounted in an inverted position, a tube may lead from the trap 5 to a collecting box below. The apparatus may be combined with a filter of an oil bath and scrubber type, or another type. Sound absorbing material may be used about the casing.
