561,767. Aircraft guns. GOETZ, C. C. July 16, 1942, No. 9883. Convention date, July 22, 1941. [Class 4] [Also in Group XXI] Aircraft guns mounted in the wings, nose or tail or in blister turrets have thier recoil absorbed by connecting the gun barrel 81 to the shock-absorbers of the landing wheels 80 when these are retracted. In the form shown applied to the nose of a bombing aircraft, the gun barrel 81 sliding on recoil in a cradle 82 .is connected by a lever 84 to the piston member 78 of the oleo-pneumatic strut of the landing wheel 80 when this is retracted through doors 86 by turning on pivots 74. In a modification, the recoil-actuated lever engages the tyre of a landing wheel when this:is in retracted position.
