Abstract

560,658. Linkwork. NASH, A. G. FRAZER-. Jan. 18, 1940, No. 1112. [Class 80 (iii)] [Also in Group XXI] Consists in a linkage for communicating a limited rotational motion of one member about one axis to another member about a parallel axis and which will take up variations in the distance between the two axes without causing relative rotation of the members which may, e.g. be a gun and a gun sight. Members 1, 2 rotatable about parallel axes 3, 4 are provided with radial arms 5, 6. In bearings 8, 8a on the arm 5 is mounted a shaft 7 furnished with two limbs 10, 10a of equal radial length and these limbs are connected by equal and parallel rods 11, 11a to pins 17, 17a on the arm 6 which is secured to a sleeve mounted in bearings in a bracket 18 and connected with a member having an arm 19 for supporting a device to be rotated about the axis 4. The arms 11, 11a have turnbuckle connections with sleeves 15, 15a which engage ball ends on the limbs 10, 10a. Ball bearings are provided for the pin connections 17, 17a. Relative movement of axes 3, 4 will result in rotation of the shaft 7 but not of the arms 5, 6. Specifications 239,342, [Class 80 (ii)], and 328/39, as open to inspection under Sect. 91, are referred to.
