560,151. Pipe couplings. TOMLINSON, A. V. (Bendix Westinghouse Automotive Air Brake Co.). July 31, 1942, No. 10752. [Class 99 (i)] In a brake pipe coupling for vehicle tractors and trailers comprising coupling-members 7, 8 with engaging gaskets 15, dirt is prevented from entering the pipes when uncoupled, by providing the gaskets with resilient membranes 19 which are slit so as to form flap valves which close when not under fluid pressure, but open when the coupling is made' and fluid is flowing in the pipes.
