Abstract

559,526. Magnets ; dynamo-electric machines. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES), Ltd., S., and KIRBY, E. J. July 7, 1942, No. 9443. [Class 35] [Also in Group XXII] The core of a permanent or electromagnet comprises a number of laminations 14, 16 of magnetic or magnetizable material soldered or brazed together preferably by copper brazing 15. The alternate laminations are copper-plated and the assemblage subjected to a heating process to effect the brazing. The drawing shows a core for a remote indicating apparatus of the kind described in Specification 537,833, [Group XXXVIII]. The different laminations may be selected with different magnetic properties and assembled in any required number or order to give a desired characteristic for the assemblage.
