Abstract
558,702. Twin-lens cameras. WILMOTBREEDEN, Ltd., and STEPHENSON, C. H. Oct. 20, 1942, No. 14690. [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (i)] A twin-lens camera, in which one lens projects an image on to the plate or film and the other on to a viewing-screen, the lens having a common focusing means, is provided with a binocular system for viewing the screen image. The Figure shows a suitable optical system in which light from the image on the translucent screen s produced by the lens l<SP>1</SP> is directed by a lens l<SP>2</SP> to eyepieces l<SP>3</SP>, l<SP>4</SP> by way of two similar series of totally-reflecting prisms p<SP>1</SP>, p<SP>3</SP>, p<SP>4</SP> and p<SP>2</SP>, p<SP>5</SP>, p<SP>6</SP>. The lens l<SP>1</SP> may be of shorter focal length than the taking objective, the common focusing means moving the two lenses at different rates.
