521,452. View - finders for kinematograph cameras. MATHOT, S. R. Nov. 17, 1938, No. 33451. Convention date, Dec. 31, 1937. [Classes. 97 (i) and 98 (i)] A view-finder for kinematograph cameras, of' the kind which is automatically corrected in. accordance with the focusing of the camera objective, and comprising an objective 4 closely adjacent the camera objective 3, a large eyepiece 18, and a deflecting mirror or prism 6 between the objective and eyepiece, is provided with means controlled by the focusing of the objective 3 for adjusting the mirror or prism to eliminate parallactic error. In the form shown the mirror 6 is pivoted at 7 and reflects the light through a further component 9 of the objectiveto a second mirror 10, which further reflects the light .through a collecting lens 12 to form the image in a preferably adjustable frame 13. The image so formed is inverted by V-shaped mirrors 14, 16 and viewed through the eyepiece 18. The mirror 6 is adjusted angularly in accordance with the focusing of the lens 3 by a lug 19 on the lens mount which moves a lever 20 carrying a pin 24 which engages an arm 25 secured to the axle of the mirror. The pin 24 is adjustable along a slot in the lever 20 to alter the transmission ratio in accordance with the focal length of the objective 3.
