Abstract

558,699. Brackets. SPECIALTIES DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. Sept. 30,1942, No. 13739. Convention date, April 25. [Class 52 (v)] A bracket for holding a cylindrical or spherical container (for example, an airman's oxygen cylinder, or a fire extinguisher) comprises a series of closelyspaced hoop-like members each adapted to be clamped about the container. As shown in Fig. 1, a series of straps 17 brazed to two parallel rods 16 are clamped around a cylindrical container 12 by means of screws 25. The ends of the rods fit into countersunk recesses in clips 35 and are secured at one end by nuts 47. The clips are provided with screw holes 38 for attaching the bracket to a supporting surface. In a modification, Fig. 5, the rods are replaced by bars 50 bent at the ends 51 for mounting the bracket on a supporting member in any suitable manner. Auxiliary cradle members 52 bridged by members 54 are secured to the bars 50 and abut the ends of the container.
