[Also in Groups XXX and XXXII] A freight container 100 is held on the chassis 60 of a road vehicle by hooks 76 mounted on the chassis and taking over rods 103 on the freight container. The hooks are joined in pairs by linkages 79, 80, and pairs of hooks at opposite ends of the road vehicle are connected by a shaft 77 so that all the hooks can be operated simultaneously by a single handle 84a which can be locked in retaining or released position by a pin 87 passing through registering holes in the handle and in a bracket 88. The hooks are biased to the retaining position by a spring 83.
