Abstract

556,415. Photographic shutters. KODAK, Ltd. Dec. 31, 1942, No. 18612. Convention date, Feb. 17. [Class 98 (i)] In an "everset" photographic shutter the trigger 21 moves, through engaging latch elements 26, 29, a rack 19 meshing with a gear 17 carried by a blade-operating oscillatable mastermember 13, which is thus moved against the action of a spring 14. After a predetermined movement of the trigger the latch elements are disengaged, releasing the master-member 13, which thereupon operates the blades. In the shutter shown, the rack 19 is formed on a rotatably mounted ring 20, the trigger 21 is carried by another rotatable ring, and the latch 26 is pivoted to the trigger and is released from the latch element or shoulder 29 on the ring 20 by the engagement of a cam surface 30 with a pin 31. The master member operates the blade-ring through an arm 10 pivoted to it and engaging, during the return movement of the mastermember, a lug on the blade-ring. In a modification, the trigger is carried by an arm pivoted at the lower part of the shutter casing, and the latch 26 is moved by a pin carried by it and engaging in a cam slot.
