Abstract
555,856. Cooling liquids. HEENAN& FROUDE, Ltd., and WALKER, G. H. May 13, 1942, No. 6476. [Class 64 (iii)] Liquid flowing through banks of tubes A<1>, A<2>, A<3> is cooled by streams of water falling over the tubes from distributing troughs L<1>, L<2>, L3 into collecting tanks F<1>, F2, F3 and air is blown across the tubes by a fan E. Pumps circulate the water from the tanks back to the respective troughs. The water is directed over the tubes by nozzles M<1>, M2, M3 at the bottom of the troughs. The stoppage of overflow from a small outlet near the top of each trough gives a visual indication of a faulty water circulation. -
