Abstract
555,779. Piezo-electric crystal mountings. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. July 1, 1942, No. 9109. Convention date, July 1, 1941. [Class 40 (v)] A piezo-electric crystal 1 having electrode coatings 2, 3 is clamped between members 4, 5 which engage the crystal at areas 6, 7 surrounded by grooves 8, 9 to localize the clamping effect. A pin 10 extending from member 5 into a recess in the crystal serves for centring the crystal. In a modification, Fig. 2 (not shown) the members 4, 5 have hollows for engaging over the raised portions 6, 7. In a further modification, Fig. 3 (not shown) the plates 13 between which the clamped crystal is mounted form the electrodes thus providing a " pressure-gap " mounting.
