[Classes 113 (i) and 115] In a skid fender for launching a life-boat 8 comprising a tubular or other nosing iron or runner 7 connected at its upper end to one gunwale fitting, and at its lower end to a lashing wire or rope 17 engaging a second gunwale fitting, as described in the parent Specification, the runner 7 is fitted with a locating member 29 to abut against, or fit on, the keel 18. The member 29 may be adjustably clamped on to a flattened portion 24 of the runner 7.
