553,783. Lock nuts. MULDOON, W. E. Nov. 23, 1942, No. 16516. [Class 89 (i)] A nut makes contact on one side or edge only applying a binding moment to the threaded portion to render the nut selflocking. To this end the nut may have two flanges A, B, the flange A being deeper to establish contact. The hole in the nut is located closer to the shorter flange in such manner that part threads are formed in the side of this flange. In a modification the nut has a projection on one side only and in this case part threads are formed in this projection.
