Abstract

553,596. Inductances; transformer. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. March 28, 1942, No. 4177. Convention date, Nov. 14, 1940. [Class 38 (ii)] Secondary resonances due to an unfavourable distribution of the interlayer capacity in a multilayer winding are avoided by so arranging the turns in relation to the insulation that the potential distribution due to inter-layer capacity coincides with that due to flux linkages. This may be accomplished by progressively increasing the thickness of the insulation 3 between layers, by using insulation of progressively decreasing dielectric constant, or, according to the Specification as open to inspection under Sec. 91, by progressively decreasing the number of turns per layer. The lastmentioned method does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
