Abstract
553,526. Envelopes. MITCHELL, G. P. March 9, 1942, Nos. 3085/42 and 6112/43 [being divided out of first Provisional Specification]. [Class 146 (ii)] A reply envelope has for resealing a strip of adhesive along one or more fold lines on the inner face of the front or of one or more flaps. A reply envelope, Fig. 1, has a front 10 and flaps 11 - - 14. On the first use, flaps 11 - - 13 are folded in and flap 14 sealed down to secure them. To open, the envelope is cut along one of the fold lines and it can then be re-sealed by one of the adhesive strips 15, four such re-sealings being possible. The envelope front may bear instructions at each re-sealable edge, each one being cancelled as it is used. The envelope front may carry a window 101 or printed spaces for several addresses. In a modification, Fig. 4, the envelope is adapted for use as a letter card after first use by perforations 16 in which case the envelope should be opened by slitting three edges.
