Abstract

553,224. Valves. WRIGHT, R. N., and HALL, T. April 15, 1942, No. 4939. [Class 135] A valve device for controlling the supplies of oxygen and acetylene to a welding torch has two diaphragm valve members actuated by plungers secured to a balance member pivoted to an actuating lever from which the torch is suspended when out of use. In the form shown in the Figures the diaphragm valve members 15 are held against shoulders 14 in the casing 11 by plates 13 and are adapted to co-operate with removable seating bushes 17. The valve diaphragms are depressed against the action of springs 19 by plungers 24 secured to the balance member 25. This member is pivoted at 26 to the actuating lever 27 pivoted at one end to a fixed bracket 29 and at the other end provided with a hook 271 adapted to receive the torch when out of use.
