The paper may be impregnated with monostyrene which is then polymerized and it may then be coated with a lacquer containing polystyrene. The impregnant may also include a plasticizer, e.g. 8 per cent. ethyl oleate and 2 per cent. 1, 2, 3, 4-tetrahydronaphthalene.
