552,248. Abrasive compositions. NORTON GRINDING WHEEL CO., Ltd. June 4,1942. No. 7629. Convention date, June 19, 1941. [Class 70] [Also in Group XXIII] A grinding-wheel &c. comprises a backing to which is united integral inner and outer layers each comprising vitrified ceramic material, the outer layer including diamond grains bonded by the ceramic material. The backing 14, which may be of disc or cup form and may be made of metal powder bonded with resin, is secured to the integral layers by a bond layer 44 made of rubber, phenol-formaldehyde &c. and the outer layer 24, containing the diamond abrasive, may be of L section and embrace the inner layer 34. Specification 462,966 and U.S.A. Specification 2,150,886 are referred to.
