Leakage of air is prevented by flanges p with which the fabric is pressed into contact by the air pressure. In addition to this pressure, plates q may be provided which are drawn together by springs rand adjustably forced apart to press the flanges p against the medium by wedges t engaging blocks s on the plates; the wedges may be operated together through rods u connected to a movable frame v.
