Abstract

824,430. Moving band gas filters. VOKES Ltd. June 6,1958 [June 7, 1957], No. 18268/57. Class 8(2). In a gas filter of the moving band type in which the filter web, as it becomes contaminated, is drawn on to spool 7 and is replaced by a clean length from spool 4, a subsidiary frame 15, mounted on rollers 22 which locate on the inclined brackets 23, is arranged to press the edges of the filter web against the main frame 1 by the horizontal component of its weight. Adjustable compression springs 24 are fitted between the main frame 1 and the subsidiary frame 15 to provide a fine control of the pressing force.
