Abstract

925,874. Gas filters. OZONAIR ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. Jan. 30, 1961 [Feb. 3, 1960], No. 3862/60. Class 8(2). An endless band 11 of filter material is driven by friction rollers 12 past a filtering station wherein the band passes between hollow air pervious rollers 15 ..18 arranged in sequence with their axes parallel and their cylindrical surfaces spaced apart by a distance equal to the thickness of the band, and the latter is thereafter driven past a cleaning station e.g., a suction nozzle 22 adjacent the dust-laden air side of the band and a compressed air nozzle on the reverse side. Cleaning liquid may be used and in a modification suction cleaning is effected by a relatively small nozzle which traverses to and fro along the length of the roller 18.
