Abstract

1443965 Cleaning webs BASF AG 10 Oct 1973 [11 Oct 1973] 47272/73 Heading D1L Plastics film is cleaned by contacting the travelling film 9 with an absorbent material 7 detachably fixed to roller 6 or endless band 35 moving in the opposite direction, the material having had applied thereto a cleaning liq. e.g. aq. propanol, from a nozzle 8, the liq. take-up being controlled by pressure rollers 17 or 18, 19, and the cleaned film being dried by air jets 33. The material may be a non-woven polymer or velour. Figs. 4-7 (not shown) show various constructions for the roller.
