550,818. Belt conveyers. AKTIEBOLAGET SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN. Sept. 19, 1941, No. 12130. Convention date, Sept. 19, 1940. [Class 78 (i)] Apparatus for converting an irregular flow of material into a uniform flow consists of an endless-belt conveyer 1, into the bottom part of which the material is irregularly fed from a shoot through an opening 7. Flat or curved plates 2 projecting inward at regular intervals from the belt raise the material till it slides off the plates near the top bend in a uniform stream into a hopper 8. A screw conveyer 9 removes it from said hopper. Stationary walls enclose the sides of the lower bight to form a receptacle for receiving the material, and side chains supporting the belt run over sprockets at the top bight of the belt. The belt may convey vertically or at an incline, and a specified application of the apparatus is the cutting and drying of grass. Two or more conveyers may work side by side.
