Abstract
550,816. Supply systems for consumption apparatus. MASTERADIO, Ltd., and POLLOCK, R. Sept. 10, 1941. No. 11600. [Class 38 (iv)] Apparatus for supplying a consuming device 1 requiring direct current at two voltages, such as a thermionic amplifier or radio receiver, comprises a common circuit which may be connected to a low voltage battery 5. This circuit is connected directly to the low voltage output 3 and through a step-up D.C. voltage converter 16 to the high voltage output 2. It may also be connected through the rectifiers 10 and a transformer 9 to A.C. mains. Chokes 13, 18 and smoothing condensers 19, 20 are included and the high voltage output then may be additionally smoothed as described in Specification 547,833. To permit a trickle charge to the battery when the consuming device is switched off a resistance 14 may be introduced when ganged switches 6, 7, 8 are opened.
