Abstract
550,405. Valve relay circuits. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd Sept. 5, 1941, No. 11371. Convention date, Sept. 7, 1940. [Class 40 (v)] The extinguishing time for grid-controlled gasfilled tubes is reduced to micro-seconds when using a pair of tubes, each having an input and an output circuit by providing a load common to the two output circuits and an impedance common to the input and output circuits of each tube and a capacitive coupling between the anodes of the tubes. Fig. 2 shows load terminals 34 across' which a resistance may be connected and condensers 30 and 31 cross connecting the anodes and cathodes respectively, while resistances 14, 24 provide coupling between the input and output circuits. As shown the tube inputs are biased by batteries 16, 26 and fed from input transformer 32 in phase opposition. The resistances 11, 21 in the anode circuits may be omitted.
