Abstract

549,721. High frequency circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., CAVIN, M. R., and HEATHCOTE, V: A. Oct 6, 1941, No. 12912. [Class 40 (iii)] In a circuit of the kind in which a capacity, which may be the interelectrode capacity of a valve, is tuned by a transmission line with an adjustable bridge, the transmission line. is in two or more parts having different characteristic impedances connected end to end, each part with. a smaller characteristic. impedance being, nearer to the condenser than any part with a greater characteristic' impedance. As shown, the parts consist of a co-axial section 1; 2 and a parallel rod section. 3 with a slider 4. The rods are 3 mm. and the cylinder 6 mm. in diameter and the respective characteristic impedances are 40 and 230 ohms.
