549,520. Building blocks &c. MANN, G. S., FRANKLIN, G., and SQUIRRELL, J. C. May 21, 1941, No. 6488. [Class 87 (i)] A building slab, block, board, batten &c. comprises a body portion 9 of breeze or other agglomerated materials with or without cement, and with or without sand as the binding and filling materials, faced on one or both sides 10 with a composition consisting of pulped or shredded and liquid-saturated paper with a binder. The facing composition may include gypsum, a hydraulic or other cement, asbestos, lime. sand, or stone powder, and material of an absorbent nature such as cane or fibre in finely sub-divided form. The facing layer may comprise the material described in Specification 529,753, [Group V]. The materials to form the body portion and the facing layer or layers are built-up in a mould and compressed, with or without heat. The blocks &c. may be provided with grooves and tongues 4, 5 to interlock with adjacent blocks.
