Abstract

547,069. Blue flame wick burners. HOUNSLOW, C. Feb. 26, 1941, No. 2631. [Class 75 (i)] The flat wick or wicks are arranged beneath mixing chambers 19 formed by plane perforated plates 20, 21 stepped at their lower ends 22, 24 and mounted in a casing 11 hinged to a horizontal frame 8 secured to the wick tubes 3. The casing 11 has tapering sides formed with air openings 15 and bent inwardly at their upper ends 12, 14. Baffles 16 are provided at the openings 15. The upper parts 25 of the plates 20 are bent inwardly and the upper parts 26 of the plates 21 form steps supporting a solid arch plate 27 and a perforated arch plate 29 which together provide a hot chamber 30 ensuring a steady flame. The ends. of the chambers 19 are closed by plates 23 which may be perforated.
