546,648. Dyeing fabrics. UXBRIDGE WORSTED CO., Inc. Jan. 22, 1941, No. 866. Convention date, Feb. 15, 1940. [Class 15 (i)] Woollen material, or material comprising wool is dyed by passing the length at a uniform speed through a bath of dye in an air-sealed chamber at a temperature above 212‹ F. and preferably between 270‹ F. and 285‹ F. The material M enters and leaves the chamber 11 by seals 12, 13 comprising pairs of driven rollers and closure members 16, 17 and is deflected through the bath 10; the bath is kept at a uniform temperature by steam coils 37 and replenished through a branched pipe 21. The material then passes through a rinsing bath 32.
