Abstract

545,744. Copper alloys. VENNER TIME SWITCHES, Ltd., MATTHEWS, S. J., KENDON, S. P., and DEAN, A. W. March 31, 1941, No. 4316. [Class 82 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A quadrature ring or band for an A..C meter or instrument consists of an alloy of copper, manganese, and nickel, the amount of copper being not less than 90 per cent. by weight. The amount of copper may be between 97 and 99.25 per cent. by weight, the amount of manganese being between 0.05 and 1.4 per cent. and nickel between 0.1 and 2.6 per cent. One or more of the metals aluminium, iron, tin and zinc may be present in a total quantity not exceeding 2.5 per cent. by weight. The pole piece on which the quadrature ring is mounted may be slightly lengthened to allow for adjustment of the ring within the desired limits. Specification 537,129, [Group XXXVI], is referred to.
