Abstract

545,381. Centrifugal hydro - extractors. AMERICAN VISCOSE CORPORATION. Dec. 3, 1941, No. 15559. Convention date, June 7, 1941. [Class 23] Yarn or thread in package form is treated with liquid, and dried in a hydro-extractor the rotor of which supports some means to protect the material and an arrangement is provided by which the protective means can be moved to an inoperative position. The yarn packages are mounted on rods 3 pivoted to the lower plate 2 of the rotor and held in vertical position by the top plate 4. The protective means consists of a peripheral screen 11 which rests on a ledge 13 on the lower plate 2 and fits sufficiently tightly to rotate with the rotor. A cover 5 encloses the rotor and carries guide brackets 6, 7 which can slide on the rod 8. The cover carries an internal angular bracket 10 arranged just below an annular bracket 12 on the screen 11. When the cable 9 is operated to lift the cover 5 the protecting screen 11 is also lifted.
