545,365. Friction clutches. VAUXHALL MOTORS, Ltd., PLATT, M., and DREW, H. Feb. 15, 1941, No. 2066. [Class 80 (ii)] In a multiple disc friction clutch the friction linings 10, 11 that make contact with the intermediate plate 5, or plates, have a lower coefficient of friction than the linings 9, 12 that make contact with the flywheel 2 and presser plate 4. The tendency of overheating of the intermediate plate or plates is thus reduced.
