545,265. Loom healds. EGLI, E. Dec. 24, 1940, No. 18110. [Class 142 (i)] Healds 1 on a bar 2 are held upright by accurate fitting, by their own weight, or by springs or weights located beneath the bar 2, which is slidable vertically in guides 3. The means for raising and lowering the healds may be below the bar 2. Springs 5 serve to hold the bars 2 downwardly in the guides 3. By providing a bar 12 within a slot in each of the bars 2, and securing the healds to the bar 12,the free portions of the healds can be balanced. Alternatively the healds can extend downwardly through the carrier to serve this purpose. The springs 5 can be attached either to the bars 2 or to the bars 12.
