Abstract

544,795. Hydraulic control systems. TRIGGS, W. W. (Douglas Aircraft Co., Inc.). Feb. 4, 1941, No. 1483. [Class 69 (ii)] A device for controlling remotely a hydraulically operated unit. The controlled unit is actuated by the unit 24 containing a differential piston, the smaller area of which is constantly exposed to the fluid pressure from the pump 6 through the line 18. The fluid pressure is supplied to the larger area by anti-clockwise movement of either control lever 124, thus unseating valve 136 and allowing pressure fluid to pass from line 20, through line 46 to port 100, and acting on piston 110 to give pressure fluid in line 36. When the control lever is moved clockwise the line 36 is opened to exhaust and the unit 24 therefore reverses its movement due to the constant pump pressure. A device utilizing a single control device 26 is described.
