Abstract

1,083,887. Valves. ROBERT BOSCH G.m.b.H. Oct. 26, 1964 [Nov. 29, 1963], No. 43482/64. Heading F2V. A single acting piston working in a cylinder 32 receives motive fluid from a pump 3 via line 5, chamber 6<SP>11</SP> and valve 27. When pilot valves 14, 19 are respectively opened and closed, fluid acts via lines 13, 20 above piston 11 to assist spring 12 in closing by-pass valve 10. Thus, when valve 27 is opened, cylinder 32 receives fluid at a pressure limited by relief valve 7. If valve 27 is closed the piston is locked in position and if valves 14, 19 are respectively closed and opened chamber 6<SP>1</SP> is vented and by-pass valve 10 opens. The return stroke of the piston occurs when valve 27 is opened. Valves 14, 19, 27 may be operated mechanically or electromagnet! - cally. In the modification of Fig. 3 (not shown), valve 27 is replaced by valve (43), the latter being controlled in a similar manner to valve 10 by pilot valves (50, 51).
