544,347. Night lamps. GEE, W. J. Oct. 2, 1940, No. 14796. [Classes 75 (i) and 75 (iv)] A night lamp suitable also for lighting cigarettes, spills &c. comprises a glass or other jar 1 packed with cotton wool or other absorbent material 10 saturated with paraffin &c. a metal lid 3 threaded on the jar 1 or secured by a bayonet joint, a wick 9 passing through a tube 6 in the lid 3 and embedded in the material 10 and a wind-guard 19. The windguard 19 is made from a perforated sheet metal rectangular blank having gaps cut out of its long sides. The blank is bent about its short axis and the ends of the long sides are soldered together at 11 so that the cut-out portions form openings 12 above the flame allowing the insertion of spills.
