542,063. Centrifugal dust separators. JACOBSEN, O. B. Sept. 23, 1940, No. 14459. [Class 23] A separator of the cyclone type for separating dust from gases has a chamber a preferably o: conical shape with a tangentia entry b and an annular peri pheral dust outlet d at the base of the cone. The clean gas passes through the central annular open ing f arranged at the base of the cone and is discharged through the volute g and the outlet h The dust drops into the collecting bunker c and the small quantity of gas accompanying it i returned to the separating chamber for re-circulation through a centrally disposed tube j. A conical deflector l is placed in the tube and this directs the recirculated air through the vaned outlet k into the separating chamber. The dust discharge outlet d may be vaned. Specification 406,425 is referred to.
