Abstract
541,871. Speedometers. KIENZLE APPARATE AKT. GES., (formerly KIENZLE TAXAMETER UND APPARATE AKT. GES.). Dec. 6, 1938, Nos. 35556 and 35557. Convention dates, Dec. 6, 1937 and Feb. 28, 1938. [Class 106 (iii)] An eddy-current instrument indicating the speed of rotation of a shaft 1 has a pot magnet which is secured to the shaft and consists of a highly coercive permanent magnet 3 and soft iron pole-pieces 4. The magnetic circuit is complete except for an annular air-gap 5 into which extends the edge of a cupped disc 8 made of resistance material fast on a spindle 12 which carries the indicating pointer 11. Specification 441,728 is referred to.
