824,469. Magnetic recording apparatus. ANTOPHON A.G. Oct. 9, 1957 [Oct. 18, 1956; Dec. 8, 1956], No. 31582/57. Class 40 (2). [Also in Group XXXIX] Impulses are produced by a magnetic reading head consisting of a permanent magnet 15 (Fig. 5) scanning an information carrier, such as 19, portions of which offer different values of magnetic resistance to the magnetic flux of the external field of the magnet 15. The carrier 19 consists of alternate brass and iron laminµ and the voltage generated in the coil 17 of the reading head is of the form shown in Fig. 7, of which either the negative or positive component, or both, may be utilized. Alternatively, the carrier may be of uniform ferromagnetic material and be provided with projections 20 (Fig. 6).
