456,804. Measuring - instruments ; speedometers. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION, Grand Boulevard, Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A. Feb. 27, 1936, No. 5877. Convention date, Feb. 27, 1935. [Classes 106 (iii) and 106 (iv)] In a measuring- instrument, for example a magnetic speedometer, wherein numeral wheels 23 must be correctly positioned in the casing 21 so as to be visible through an aperture 25, the base 11 and the casing 21 are provided with inter-engaging lug 31 and slot 33, and the field cup 35 is provided with positioning sleeves 43 entering recesses 40 in the base 11 and secured thereto by screws 41. The tension of the restoring hair spring 77 is adjusted by rotating a frictionally-held plate 83. A wire 115 held in notches 117 of wall 51 engages a groove on shaft 93 to prevent axial movement thereof.
